When 'Good Enough' Office Furniture Costs You More Than You Think
It started with a chair. Specifically, a Sabrina task chair from teknion that our procurement team had specced for a new office pod installation in Hong Kong. They'd picked it because it looked good in the catalog, the price was right, and the sales rep said it met 'industry standards.'

- Build in a verification step. We now require a sample unit from the first production batch for every new product line. It delays the order by a week, but it's saved us from at least three major issues in the past year alone.
- Consider the workstation as a system. A chair is only as good as its fit with the desk and the environment. Teknion's standing desks and glass wall systems work well together, but only if every component matches the ergonomic plan. A 10mm gas lift difference breaks the whole thing.

That Sabrina chair? We got the correct batch in the end. It's a great chair. But I'll never forget the lesson: trust the brand, but verify the unit.
